Project manager
The central project manager has the new Explorer look, including icons and integration with Windows. Custom files or folders can be added as part of your modelling project. Word documents, working directories or related SQL files can be added using the internal menu's or using drag and drop straight from the Explorer. All active or opened files are presented in a bold font style.

Windows integration
The Explorer/Windows integration extends to showing file tip info when hovering CaseTalk related files.

File management
The file properties window which is available for all files in the project is extended with a user definable set of properties. Below is shown what this extended summary tab looks like.

Information Model browsing
The expression window has a new navigational feature, anybody familiar to the "smart select" will love this. The extra "Related" tab (displayed as overlay in the image) shows all related items in a separate list. Smart select is not always enabled, this list is, and better yet: it supports full drag and drop for diagrams as well. Double-clicking the related items enables easy navigation through your repository. Additionally the expressions displayed here are line wrapped for easy reading in case long text expressions are to be presented.

Information Model Editing
The Object Types/Fact Types in the left part of the screen is now expanded with a multi-columned listview. You can now choose to have a simple list which can be sorted on name or type, or have the multi-columned listview. Additionally the in-place editing functionality is supported rename items from within this window.

Natural language expressions
The expression input and qualification window has a new feature called auto diagram which will display the object/facttypes in diagram style while you qualify the elements in the expression. This way a direct feedback to you qualification is presented.

Enhanced diagramming
The diagramming window has had many updates although not all that obviously visible, lots of enhancements have been added in the handling and use of diagramming. For instance, if moving an object it'll update while it is being done, so you may actually see where it'll drop. Further more we have added a menu item to easily navigate the diagram objects using the context menu.

Personal preferences
Customising the diagram properties and saving them in personal view styles has been brought to the next level. Now you're able to toggle viewstyles while viewing or editing the diagram to your personal needs. The picture below shows the impact of change that could occur, depending on personal settings.

Information Model Reporting
Object type / Fact type Documentation has been enhanced. For those who are used to the previous FCO-IM case-tool version 4.1 this is a totally new feature, but for CaseTalk it has been present from the start, and now even improved. It supports multiple selected items in the IG Viewer which is reflected by several tabs. Using the "print all" menu item will print all displayed tabs.

Reverse engineering existing database
Through a few simple steps CaseTalk is able to reverse engineer your physically implemented database through an ADO connection. You may choose which tables are reversed into an elementary FCO-IM model.

Information Model transformations
Performing a GLR transformation to prepare the database table structure we can use a different window to display the Table Documentation. Below is an example:

Generating databases
Database schema editor is implemented and allows you to make final adjustments or simply check the end result before the actual DDL or database is generated.

Enhanced Model Navigation
Repository navigation has been replaced completely. For more advanced querying an embedded SQL engine is installed and allows you to query whatever your wishes from the repository, assemble queries using drag and drop or just browse the repository by tables on the Data tab. Below is a screenprint of this brand new feature including the syntax highlighting:

More personal preferences
All tabbed forms are up to date using Windows-style-tabs.
