We are pleased to announce an update of CaseTalk Corporate Edition. Some features and improvements have been tested for a long time in the beta and educational edition, and have now reached maturity. We will soon update the other editions to this official version as well. Some feature improvements are:
- A brand new assistent which helps to place uniqueness constraints and mandatory constraints during the entering of new expressions.
- Huge performance improvement for large models (> 2000 otft's).
- Improved well formedness violation handling enabling automated solvers and highlighting of otft's inside the repository and diagrams.
- Copy and paste of qualified expressions over different repositories.

A long term request by several schools and universities is to have a network installation available for students which will hold a full school year. While preserving the six month license for individual students, we offer a new download section for school and university system administrators. By this they are offered a license which will prevent mandatory license renewal during the school year.

13 feb 2008 - Course for modern information modelling (Dutch)
In de jaren 80 werd veel discussieerd over de voors en tegens van verschillende methoden voor informatiemodellering en het (daaruit voortvloeiende) ontwerp van databases en applicaties.
In de jaren 90 kwamen daar nog UML en Datawarehousing bij.
Tegenwoordig vinden we dat al deze technieken niet met elkaar strijdig zijn, maar dat ze elkaar aanvullen: mits goed begrepen en door de juiste hulpmiddelen ondersteund zijn ze goed in combinatie te gebruiken. Dit is in grote en complexe projecten ook in de praktijk bewezen. Lees verder...
12 oct 2007 - Erasmus MC winner of Computable Award 2007

In the current information age, quality of information is becoming increasingly more important in organisations. In the world of care it is even literally a matter of life and death. For the Erasmus Medical Centre this was the reason to select Atos Origin as a partner for the development of their new Patient Data Warehouse, and to use the Metadata Frame of Atos Origin (Red: Two major pillars were our tools CaseTalk, MetaMorfose and the BridgeToolSet).
The main focus of this framework is that the natural language of the business itself is the basis for the application design. Using real life examples taken from the actual work of their medical staff, doctors, nurses and others, the information model could be read, understood and most important comletely validated by them.
9 oct 2007 - ORM2007
Following successful workshops held in Cyprus (2005) and Montpellier (2006), this is the third in a series of fact-oriented modeling workshops run in conjunction with the OTM conferences. Fact-oriented modeling is a conceptual approach to modeling and querying the information semantics of business domains in terms of the underlying facts of interest, where all facts and rules may be verbalized in language readily understandable by non-technical users of those business domains.

Downloads continue, and we have managed to engineer a download map using GoogleMap and GeoIP. We grouped the geolocations, every mark represents one or more registered users in a single provence or state. CaseTalk is now used in over 25 countries over the world and we have supplied well over 4000 users with a registered license.

Open source DBMS have reached a high grade of evolution and are seen as a cost effective and functionally adequate alternative to commercial DBMS by many business companies. Besides the cost aspects the question if open source DBMS can cope with the demands that are given by enterprise-level applications comes to our mind. Fabalabs Software GmbH and the Institute For Applied Knowledge Processing (FAW) evaluated Firebird 1.5.2, Ingres r3 3.0.1, MaxDB 7.5.0.23, MySQL 4.1.10 and PostgreSQL 8.0.1 in respect to their applicability on enterprise-level applications. 16 november 2004 Trends in informatiemodellering (Dutch)
Informatie is het bloed van elke informatiesysteem. Het kunnen registreren en manipuleren van informatie is de hoofdreden waarom informatiesystemen gebouwd worden. Dit maakt informatiemodellering als fase in het gehele systeemontwikkelingsproject cruciaal. Het in kaart brengen van informatiebehoeften is nog steeds een belangrijke activiteit. Een gedegen informatiemodellering is een vereiste voor succes.
Jaren geleden zijn hier technieken als ERM (entity-relationship model) voor bedacht. Later volgden de zogenaamde feittype georiënteerde modelleringstechnieken, zoals NIAM, FCO-IM en ORM. Nu wordt vaak geadviseerd om UML in te zetten. Maar waar staan we nu? Veel analisten gebruiken nog ERM, sommige FCO-IM en de aanhangers van objectoriëntatie kiezen voor UML.

17 June 2004 HAN Ondernemersdag (Dutch)
Donderdagmiddag 17 juni organiseert HAN Kenniscentrum Economie, Techniek en Informatica de HAN Ondernemersdag 2004.
Het thema 'kennis maken en kennis delen' verwijst naar de manier waarop de Hogeschool samenwerking ziet en zoekt met het bedrijfsleven: het op slimme wijze inzetten en toepassen van elkaars' kennis en kunde met als doel het versterken van wederzijdse activiteiten.
Op de Kennismarkt presenteren de verschillende opleidingen, afdelingen en lectoraten zich. Ook kunt u deelnemen aan diverse workshops. Tijdens de HAN-Ondernemersdag vindt ook de inauguratie van lectoren Jan Kops en Guido Bakema plaats.
Deelname is kosteloos, maar onbetaalbaar.
3 June 2003 Cooperation Four Points and BCP Software
On Tuesday June 3rd 2003, Bommeljé Crompvoets en partners b.v. (BCP) and Four Points signed a letter of intent to cooperate in the area of promoting CaseTalk, a casetool based on the FCO-IM method, also known as Object Role Modelling or NIAM.

20 May 2003 Cooperation HAN and BCP Software
On Friday April 16th 2003, Bommeljé Crompvoets en partners b.v. (BCP) and the Informatica Communicatie Academie of the HAN University have signed a contract to cooperate in the area of FCO-IM research and tool development. The contract is the next step in formalizing cooperations and strengthening the FCO-IM foundations.

On Friday April 11th 2003, Atos Origin, Bommeljé Crompvoets en partners b.v. (BCP) and the Informatica Communicatie Academie of the HAN University have signed a Letter of Intent to strengthen their cooperation. It describes a tripartite cooperation between parties to supply complete customer solutions for Metadata Management and Datawarehousing.
