Summary0005711: Compose / decompose fact expressions: allow non-elementary facts at the object-fact type
Description

CaseTalk requires fact types to be elementary, following the N-1 rule, so each fact expression captures a single irreducible fact. There are situations where a modeler wants to present or store a fact in a composed (non-elementary) form while keeping the underlying elementary facts intact.

We would like to mark, at the object-fact type level, that a non-elementary fact expression may be entered. Such a composed expression would not follow the N-1 rule, but with the requirement that all of its roles are mandatory (non-optional).

The feature should support both directions:

  • Compose / composite: combine several facts into one larger fact expression.
  • Decompose: break a composed fact expression back into its constituent elementary facts.

Example: two binary facts could be combined into a single ternary fact expression with a narrow uniqueness constraint on the third role, and later decomposed back into the two binaries.

Benefit: modelers gain flexibility to express composed facts where it aids readability or matches the business view, without losing the elementary basis of the model.
