Data is everywhere, and is always stored with metadata. But the discussions involving metadata and data are usually about what it means. Sometimes data is taken as something real, and metadata is sometimes treated as data. This illustration is an attempt to show how objects in real life are accompanied with data, and how metadata is surrounding them all. And just for the techies out there, I've added the abstract data-metadata diagram to illustrate how far away that is from the actual language everyone understands.
